So....a funny thing happened on the way to the circus...
As you most likely know, Craig currently works a rotational, fly in fly out life meeting up with me on Inelsamo for sailing adventures on his off swings. That means I need to entertain myself month on/month off. And as you have seen, I try to do side trips and go wandering around this wonderful world. But from time to time, I do manage to find my way back to the Land of Oz to get my dose of family, friends and all manor of country life.
My trip down under has been somewhat unexpected this time as Craig decided he needed to stay in Kazakhstan for an extra couple of swings at work. Consequently, a frantic flight booking and I was on Queensland soil once more but I had no plans, nothing organised and was feeling a wee bit down about his absence for 12 weeks!
So I asked one of my beautiful siblings if I could crash with her lot for a couple of weeks and get a dose of country air, pets and paddocks.
Certainly got that yesterday. I happily pottered off down the yard to feed the chooks (chickens to non-Oz folk) and collect eggs. Well, one thing to another, and I managed to lock myself in didn't I. The girls, that is Douglas, Pearl, MoneyPenny, Mrs Pettigrew and
Beatrice, were somewhat miffed about their unexpected visitor and I certainly got a few 'WTF' looks from them all. I attempted to make polite conversation but only Dougie, the red head, showed any chit chat interest. So in between chatting with the girls, I spent 15 minutes calling out to my brother-in-law (BIL) for rescue which on a large block of land, him uphill and me way downhill, it was always going to be a challenge.
I began to get comfortable and wondered how long it would take my sister to realise I hadn't returned for collecting eggs. Hopefully before sunset as it is winter! She was up in the house singing away to loud music while cooking patty cakes. My BIL was busy weeding and doing yard work so no hope there either.
Anyways, the circus finally got sorted and BIL came to my rescue. Just in time to as the blood circulation in my legs was starting to wane from being in a squat position!! Note to self for future.....take the phone!!
